Melbourne Boy’s Foot Severed By Lawnmower

MELBOURNE, Fla. — Brevard County authorities said a two-year-old boy’s left foot was severed when it was run over by a riding lawnmower.

Sheriff officials said the man operating the lawnmower didn’t see the boy Tuesday morning.

Rescue officials wrapped the foot in a plastic bag and took it to the hospital, but paramedics said it didn’t appear they could reattach it.

The incident has been ruled an accident. It doesn’t appear charges will be filed.
