by MowerMan I was messing about the other day and decided to take a look a Snapper’s product line.I did a search for Snapper and found they were unable to rank for that term, I entered Snapper Lawnmowers and found their web site.
I thought it was a bit sad that a company that size was unable to rank for their name but I guess Snapper is a competitive keyword.
In keeping with Snapper’s apparent wish to remain exclusive their website does not work in FireFox (the second most used web browser) no big deal, I switched to Internet Explorer and continued my search.
I wonder who at the company was unable to see that black text is almost imposable to read on a dark red background, maybe it was the same guy that decided I should have to enter all my personal information in-order to look for a dealer in my area.
Something as simple as clicking on the Home button takes me to a totally different website.
The Internet is the way of the future, every company in the world, that’s serious about their business, has a functional website.
But Snapper never left the 80’s and 90’s.

I have personally never seen a new Snapper Lawn Mower.

Snapper said no to WalMart a long time ago - the box stores, especially WalMart will drive your profits to the minimum.
I think that was a good move.

Pulling out of Wal-Mart is good if you have the dealer network to back
you. I don’t think Snapper has the dealer support to make that decision.

All I can say is if they are not in Home Depot, Lowe’s, Sears or Walmart
they don’t exist.

Look whats happened to Poulan since they started selling out to the box
stores. Have you tried to get your lawnmower worked on at Walmart?

I agree with not selling products through Wally World, they would
eventually put you out of business.

Snappers biggest problem is quality, they seem to last forever.

I prefer going to a dealer where they special in power equipment not to
a do it store.

Stores like Wal-Mart are better than dealers.
1. They are open everyday, even on Sunday
2. The price is on the mower, I don’t have to negotiate.
3. They don’t care what I buy, I don’t have to upgrade to a bigger
machine.
4. Dealers care more about the commercial guy and the home owner is
nothing more than a nuisance.
You can head to the dealer and pay more for your mower, but we both pay
the same when its time to get the work done.

Snapper is out of date and don’t seem to be doing anything to better
their position in the market.

I don’t have time in the week to head to the dealer and on the weekends
their all closed. Home Depot is my only option.

Try your search again. Snapper is the number 1 hit on Google. Snapper is still leading in rear engine sales and quality. Snapper took away all the contracts from Simplicity because their quality is so good. Why would John Deere and Sears trust them if their quality was otherwise?
