WorkCover investigating Oberon dam death

WorkCover is investigating the death of a man who crashed a ride-on mower into a dam in central-western NSW.

Ambulance crews called to a factory property on Lowes Mount Road, Oberon, found the body of the 45-year-old man under a mower submerged in a shallow dam about 5.30pm (AEDT) on Tuesday.

Police believe the man had been mowing a lawn on the property but had gone too close to the rim of the dam, and toppled over the edge into the water.

A spokeswoman for WorkCover said an investigator had gone to the property.
