Conveyor Rollers
Does anyone know where I can get some custom designed conveyor rollers. I’ve got a gravity conveyor that has some bad rollers on it. The conveyor is used for sandblasting stone, you place the stone on the roller and it slowly rolls down, through a booth and out the other side.
The conveyor roller is a metal tube with the ends crimped to hold the bearing assembly in place. The shaft is spring loaded so that it can be easily retained in the conveyor bed. It then rides inside the bearings so they carry the roller load. The roller tube and shaft thickness have not been measured yet but the shielding needs to be greater than normal due to the environment it is being used in. Of course how good depends on the cost and ROI.
I was thinking of either a shielded oiled bearing or a sealed bearing. I’m guessing that a grease packed bearing may also work. I guess the best way to go would be a sealed grease packed bearing.
Keep in mind that the roller is going through a sand blasting machine and the blast is pointed directly at the roller.
