Laser Mowers

At this time lasers are used to cut paper, plastic and to perform surgeries as well as a lot of other slicing type task.

I wonder how far off we are from having lasers that will replace our lawnmower mower blades?

If we had a battery operated laser mower there would be no need for an engine or at lest not on a regular push mower.

But then I wonder how many fires would be started due to the lasers cutting dry grass?
