GASOLINE TIP

Fall is the time when we need to put our mowers away and in some areas get out our snow blowers. Many mower owners don’t do anything about that left over gas until spring and many snow blower owners don’t do anything until the blizzard hits.

Gasoline gets stale and turns to a varnish like substance over time. Fuel additives canGas problems with Lawnmower minimize the effect this has on your product but the best practice is to dump it and run your engine until it is gone from the carburetor at the end of the season.

I don’t want to take any business away from your dealer because most of the mowers he works on in the spring have stale gas, varnished carburetors, and water that has condensed in the tank and gas can over the winter. If you want to avoid the long lines, expense and delay, get the gas out. Dispose of it properly but don’t leave it in your engine.

Snow blower owners need to do the same in the spring. Now is the time to start your snow blower because if it has gummed up from last years gas you can get it fixed. When the blizzard comes it’s too late. It won’t start and you can’t get to the dealer and even if you could he is probably closed due to the weather.
